Designation: Manager Medical Coding Operations
Location: Navi Mumbai
Department: Medical Coding Operations
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager Medical Coding Operations to lead our coding teams, drive operational excellence, and manage client relationships. The role requires a strong leader who can ensure compliance, maintain high-quality delivery, and build a culture of performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Growth & Client Management
    • Grow and expand business from existing clients; identify opportunities for new clients and service lines.
    • Understand and deliver on client requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction and delight.
    • Act as the primary liaison between clients and operations teams, ensuring clear and timely communication.
    • Be flexible and responsive to client needs, consistently delivering against SLAs.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Drive process improvements to achieve operational excellence.
    • Monitor KPIs, variance reports, and highlight issues proactively to clients.
    • Conduct compliance audits, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions (RCA, CAPA).
    • Ensure accurate data utilization for invoicing and reporting.
    • Meet all requirements of management systems and ensure adherence to organizational standards.
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, motivate, and develop coding teams to achieve individual and organizational goals.
    • Manage and reduce attrition within acceptable levels.
    • Allocate resources effectively to improve process efficiency.
    • Conduct periodic performance reviews, appraisals, and career development discussions.
    • Identify training needs and ensure timely interventions for skill development.
    • Coach, mentor, and guide team members while providing frontline supervision.
  • Performance Management
    • Monitor productivity, service delivery, and overall results of the coding teams.
    • Track daily progress, make adjustments, and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance.
    • Ensure teams consistently meet or exceed contractual obligations and service levels.
    • Prepare, track, and maintain regular as well as ad hoc performance reports.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Graduate in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field (certification in medical coding preferred).
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in medical coding operations with at least 3 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience managing Multispecialty coding teams.
  • Proven track record in client management, P&L ownership, and SLA delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent people management, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
